Penny's Low Fat Desserts

penny_large

We've said it many times before when answering what the "best diet" is. Simply put, it's the one you will be able to STICK to. For us, that means it must be one that won't leave us feeling deprived, denied, or devoid of DESSERT! Yes, Chris & Lisa are in the camp of girls who need their sweets every now and then, which is why we get VERY excited when we find healthy treats that actually taste like an all-out indulgence.

Such is the case with Penny's Low-Fat Desserts. We love her name as much as we do her baking brilliance. Penny Pearl started her company with a true understanding of the need for quality treats that will keep you on plan. After facing down her own weight demons, Penny went on to achieve lifetime status in our favorite weight loss program and become a leader herself. That life experience combined with a degree in nutrition, has made her THE Diva of the Low-Fat Dessert World!

Chris & Lisa are particularly crazy for the cookies in this healthy line. Clocking in at just 2 little Weight Watcher's POINTS® each, Penny's cookies are an out-of-body experience. Incredibly moist and bigger than the entire palm of your hand, there's a whole lot of sweet tooth satisfaction to be found here. Best of all they're low-fat & filled with fiber. Choose from Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate & Cranberry (Lisa's fave), Peanut Butter, Oatmeal Raisin (Chris' pick-o-the litter), or Chocolate with Peanut Butter. There are also No Sugar Added selections in 2 tasty new flavors. Both the Chocolate Truffle and Toffee Cinnamon cookies are diabetic friendly, 100 calories, have 3 grams of sugar... and are only ONE Weight Watchers POINT for those of you counting! Your Skinny Scoopers loved tipping back the Toffee Cinnamon with a 'spot-o-tea' one snowy afternoon last month.

If it's muffins you crave, this baking babe puts even the largest companies to
shame! If we can convince you to try even one thing from this line, make it the Almond Poppy Seed or Carrot Raisin Muffin Tops.

TO

DIE

FOR!

Just like her cookies, Penny's Muffin Tops offer a
heaping helping of yumminess. Each generous serving is only 1 POINT, 100-110 calories, and is loaded with 3-5 grams of fiber. In addition to our 2 faves, other delicious varieties include Orange-Cranberry, Apple Cinnamon, and Chocolate-Chocolate Chip. Want the bottom half too? Grab an assortment of these same flavors in Penny's variety pack of traditional muffins. Only 2-POINTS® each!

Chris & Lisa extend sincere admiration to Penny for accomplishing what seems impossible for most "diet food" makers out there. She has managed to create low calorie desserts and treats that taste truly delicious, but don't have strange additives, preservatives, hydrogenated oils or trans-fats. Seriously... have you
read the labels on some of those big named boxed treats in the diet food aisle? Even Penny's No Sugar Added selections are made with a high grade of natural Stevia, rather than those questionable artificial sweeteners.

Your Skinny Scoopers chuckle as we recall the urban legend about Twinkies in a nuclear holocaust... only we're not
really laughing. Baked goods should not have the ability to stay perched in your pantry longer than your grandmother has had her macrame owl potholders and White Shoulders perfume. Because Penny's goodies are made fresh & shipped right to YOU the lucky nibbler, we suggest you pop them in the freezer right away. Her individually wrapped treats can then be defrosted and enjoyed one at a time for weeks to come. (This move also saves you from the temptation to wolf them all down in one sitting... or maybe that's just US). You could also enjoy the cookies toasted, warmed in the microwave, or FROZEN... believe it or not, some of her biggest fans SWEAR they are delicious when chilly & chewy!

The purity in her products is very much by design. Penny enlisted the help of a food scientist in developing her line, then tested her treats in a lab for nutritional accuracy. The company also proudly sponsors the California Dietetic Association, a professional organization for diabetics and nutritionists. Penny's regular cookies and muffin tops are egg-free, and 2 of the selections are completely VEGAN!

It's good to see Skinny Scoops finally caught on to Penny's Low Fat Desserts; It's about time! I LOVE Penny's muffins and cookies. Honestly, they're better tasting that full-fat, unhealthier alternatives out there, so having such amazing nutritional stats is a bonus. Even the new No Sugar Added cookies are delicious, and I'm not even diabetic. It's the only NSA product that I would choose to eat, even without needing to cut sugar from my diet for medical reasons!
