Chips Worth Their Weight in CRUNCH

riceworks_2_2

It's almost Superbowl time which can be bad for some of us who love all the crunchy temptations on game day. We've got a nice alternative to fattening chips. It's Riceworks® gourmet brown rice crisps.

Today is national corn chip day. Seriously, we didn't make that up. So instead of dipping into a bag of Fritos, go for a handful of flavorful rice crisps.

Riceworks offers a delectible variety of flavors. Sweet Chili (our favorite), Sea Salt, Salsa Fresca, Parmesan, Wasabi and Baked Cinammon. Both Chris and I LOVE the Sweet Chili. It's a tangy blend of salty and sweet with a hint of spicy to keep you coming back for more.

If you're more of an old fashion chip lover we think the Sea Salt may blow your skirt up. We haven't tried Salsa Fresca, Parmesan or Wasabi but they all sound great to us. Baked Cinammon looks like those deep fried cinammon crisps from a popular fast-food joint only they're not drenched in oil and covered in sugar. YUMMY!

The best part of these crisps to us is their CRUNCH! Riceworks crisps have the consistency of a Dorito with an added whole grain appeal. We liken it to the difference between Wonder bread and whole grain bread. They're also thicker which makes you feel like you're getting more for your chewing pleasure. Hands down, Riceworks is a winner.

One serving of the Sweet Chili Crisps is 140 calories, 6 grams of fat and 1 gram fiber. That's 3 POINTS® for those of you who track. We consider these a perfect side with a healthy sandwich or wrap for lunch. And don't limit them to a plate. I scored a great match with the Sweet Chili chips and our Skinny Scoopers Chicken Tortilla Soup. I enjoyed a bowl with 6 chips that stayed crunchy and added even more flavor to my delicious soup. These rice crisps are also great with dip. Check out a delicious Skinny Scooper dip recipe coming next week.

You can find these in most grocery stores in the chips/snacks aisle. We buy them at our neighboorhood Raley's in the health food section. Enjoy!
