4 POINTS Decadent Double Chocolate Cake Print

chocolatecake

For some of us, desserts are a surefire way to fall off the calorie counting wagon. Today, we've got the most indulgent original recipe for you... one that will satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you on track. It's our own Skinny Scoopers Decadent Double Chocolate Cake.

This is an OLD family recipe from Lisa's lineage. Actually my mom would probably be mad at me for giving it away, but since we did Scooperize this, it's all good. Sorry Mom!

Here's what you'll need:
3 Cups ***Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
6 TBS Hershey's Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 cup unpacked brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups warm water
2 TBS white vinegar or apple cider vinegar

***10 TBS mini chocolate chips- you can use all 10 TBS in the recipe or use 6 TBS within the cake and melt remaining 4 TBS for a chocolate drizzle after cake is cooled.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Coat a Bundt pan with non-stick spray and set aside. Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a bowl with hand mixer for 1-2 minutes until blended. Stir in mini chocolate chips. Pour evenly into your greased Bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Cool then flip onto serving plate. After cooled, dust with a small amount of powdered sugar or melt reserved mini chocolate chips and drizzle on top. Recipe makes 14-16 irresistible tall slices. Just 4 POINTS per serving. YAHOO! Enjoy!

not sure if it's my browser, or if there really is a mistake here. i don't see chocolate chips on the list of ingredients but it refers to them in the recipe.

also, do you have the nutrition facts--specific ally calories for this recipe?? it would be very helpful if you could include nutrition facts with each recipe that you post.

Hi Coop! It was listed as an ***asterisk item because they are optional. So glad you've asked about the nutrition stats too... we are starting to hear requests for this. We're on it! Look for fat & calorie data to be included in future recipes!
